Here's What You'll Learn:

How to Transfer Your Skills From Teaching to Instructional Design
Many tasks and responsibilities common to teaching are directly applicable to instructional design. Learn how to reframe your experience for your ID resume.
Hello! I'm Dr. Robin.
I know that you are ready to write a better resume for your first ID job or maybe a better one! I’m so happy you are here and are trusting me to show you the process and guide you.
I'd like to take a moment to properly introduce myself. My name is Dr. Robin Sargent and I have a PhD in Education with a specialization in Instructional Design and Online learning. I wrote my dissertation in one year from start to finish on gamification of self-assessments in corporate online training. And while I did get my Ph.D. because a Ph.D. in any discipline was always a goal of mine that is not how I became an instructional designer.
The requirements for getting an ID job today are more clear than they were when I started. You don’t need a blog, or a scoopit page, or a slideshare account, or any of that other nonsense. You just need a great website portfolio and resume. That's where this free guide comes in. I hope you enjoy it and find it helpful in navigating your IDOL journey!
