I'd like to take a moment to properly introduce myself. My name is Dr. Robin Sargent and I have a PhD in Education with a specialization in Instructional Design and Online learning. I wrote my dissertation in one year from start to finish on gamification of self-assessments in corporate online training. And while I did get my Ph.D. because a Ph.D. in any discipline was always a goal of mine that is not how I became an instructional designer.
The requirements for getting an ID job today are more clear than they were when I started. You don’t need a blog, or a scoopit page, or a slideshare account, or any of that other nonsense.
